Terms of Service
Effective 29 August 2026
1. Accepting these terms
By accessing or using MakersBrain, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you use MakersBrain for a business or organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for it. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
MakersBrain provides workshop-management tools built on Odoo Community, including optional features for inventory, production, firing, labels, sales, documents, payments and administration. Features depend on the modules enabled for your workspace. Early-access functionality may change, be incomplete or occasionally unavailable, and we will be candid about known limitations.
MakersBrain does not provide legal, tax, accounting, safety or regulatory advice. Outputs, calculations and captured information must be reviewed by a qualified person before you rely on them for declarations, compliance, payments or safety decisions.
3. Accounts and access
You must provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in method secure and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account and for granting appropriate roles to workspace users. You may use Google sign-in when offered; your relationship with Google is governed by Google's own terms, and Google is not responsible for MakersBrain.
4. Your data and responsibilities
You retain your rights in information and materials you submit. You give MakersBrain permission to host, copy, process, transmit and back up that content only as needed to provide, secure and support the service and meet legal obligations.
You are responsible for having the rights and lawful basis needed to enter personal or confidential information, giving required notices, configuring access appropriately, and keeping legally required source records. You must not upload unlawful content or use MakersBrain to violate another person's rights.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- access accounts, workspaces, systems or data without authorization;
- disrupt, overload, probe or circumvent the service or its security controls;
- introduce malware or use the service for fraud, harassment or unlawful activity;
- misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person; or
- resell or provide the hosted service to others without written permission.
6. Open-source software and ownership
MakersBrain-authored software and site materials are made available under the AGPL-3.0-only license, while Odoo and third-party components retain their respective licenses. Those licenses govern code and materials distributed under them. These service terms govern the hosted service, accounts, infrastructure, support and any materials not covered by an open-source license. The “MakersBrain” name and marks may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement or causes confusion.
7. Third-party services
Optional features may interact with services such as Google, payment providers, email delivery, document extraction, shipping or hardware. Their own terms and privacy practices apply. We are not responsible for a third-party service, but remain responsible for our own processing and vendor choices as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Fees
There is currently no public price list or self-service purchase. Any fees, taxes, billing schedule, service level or additional support terms will be agreed before charges begin. If agreed fees become overdue, access may be suspended after reasonable notice.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep MakersBrain reliable and preserve workspace data, but early access is provided without a guaranteed service level unless a separate written agreement says otherwise. We may change or discontinue features for security, legal, technical or product reasons. When reasonably possible, we will give notice of a material change and provide a practical way to export affected data.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using MakersBrain and request account or workspace closure by contacting hello@makersbrain.app. We may suspend or terminate access to address a security risk, unlawful use, material breach, non-payment under agreed commercial terms, or harm to the service or others. Where appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.
On closure, we will provide a reasonable opportunity to export workspace data when lawful and technically feasible, then delete or de-identify it under the Privacy Policy and applicable retention obligations.
11. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the early-access service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
To the extent permitted by law, MakersBrain is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost revenue or lost opportunity. Any aggregate liability relating to the hosted service will be limited to the amount you paid for it during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service or law. The effective date above will be revised. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email when appropriate. Continuing to use the service after updated terms take effect means you accept them.
